BEETROOT & SPINACH LEAVES - CALIFORNIA
These bright green leaves provide some of the richest, most assimilable sources of organic minerals, especially iron.
Beets, being a root vegetable and grown underground, change hard rock minerals that are indegestible and unassimilable by us into a form that can be utilized by us (via its leaves).
Spinach is a rich source of folate, magnesium, iron and vitamin K, which combined this provides hugely important blood building support. Both leaves contain large amounts of carotenoids, specifically lutein, alpha and beta-carotene, and other immune strengthening phytochemicals.
Spinach and beetroot leaves regenerate and reactivate the red blood cells, supplying fresh oxygen to the body, and building healthy, iron and nutrient–rich blood.
Spinach is rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, folic acid, iron, zinc and betacarotene. It is rich in antioxidants, which help strengthen the immune system and its high vitamin A content helps eyesight.
The high iron and chlorophyll content in spinach can be helpful for any kind of skin disorders, particularly those like eczema and psoriasis. It helps to cool the blood and clears it of toxins that create the heat and inflammation of these conditions.
Spinach can stimulate the pancreas, which balances blood sugar levels and assists digestion. It also assists if there is a tendency towards constipation and difficulty with urination.
Beetroot leaf is often thrown away in favour of eating just the root but the leaf is rich in vital nutrients and, like the spinach leaf, it is especially rich in iron, betacarotene and chlorophyll. Beetroot leaf also contains vitamin B17 (laetrile), which is known to be a beneficial vitamin in treating cancer. Spinach also contains B17, underlining the similarities between these two leaves. Like spinach, beetroot leaf is also good at breaking up congestive, stagnant conditions in the liver, gallbladder and digestive system, helping to ease tiredness, and cold and/or excessive heat.
