PURPLE DULSE SEAWEED - HAWAII
why Purple dulse seaweed?
Its deep red wrinkled leaves are rich in antioxidants and particularly beta carotene. Its small amounts of iodine are useful to help process all proteins, carbohydrates and assist thyroid function. It is also rich in vitamin C, and vitamin A. Other components like sodium alginate have weight loss inducing compounds. Overall this seaweed boosts immunity consederably but erhaps its greatest attribute in Superfood Plus is its innate mineral concentration levels, which are totally assimilable.
The Most Mineral–Rich Plant That Grows In The Earth’s ‘Liquid Soil’
Purple dulse seaweed used in SuperFood Plus contains: iodine, amino acids, vitamin C, calcium, iron, magnesium, fluorine, manganese, phosphorus, alginate potassium, sodium, and the greatest amount and broadest range of minerals of any plant organism. The purple hue of the purple dulse seaweed is due to the effect on pigmentation caused by the depth of tide, temperature and other environmental factors of the sea. This influences, to a degree, its nutritional value.
- Seaweed has powerful bacterial and anti–cancer properties, and this is partly due to the fact that all sea plants contain 10–20 times the minerals of land plants, and an abundance of other elements vital to a healthy human metabolism.
- Seaweed is able to remove radioactive and toxic waste metals from the body, and acts as a lymphatic cleanser.
- It alkalizes and cools the blood and reduces congestion and heat in the liver.
- The iodine content in seaweed helps activate the thyroid and activates enzyme systems.
- Its ability to lower cholesterol and fat in the blood makes it useful for weight reduction.
- The seaweed’s slippery or mucilaginous quality is due to its phytochemicals – carrageenan, agar and algin – which nurture and heal the lungs and stomach in particular. As well as being very useful for treating any digestive or respiratory disorders, purple dulse seaweed also contains huge numbers of easily assimilated trace elements.
It is harvested by wild-crafting methods in America far away from areas that are polluted (particularly with heavy metals). It is also important to know that seaweeds in general do not absorb and concentrate toxins (unlike, for instance, mushrooms), but rather they detoxify and transform them, converting them to harmless salts.
Purple dulse seaweed’s fluorine content boosts the body's defence systems and strengthens teeth and bones. It is also helpful against the herpes virus. Fluorine is lost in cooking, which is why it is ideal in its raw state in SuperFood Plus.
